The marsh is Dorothy Kerper Monnelly's home landscape which she describes as a place of splendor. Having lived there over thirty years, there are layers to her appreciation and awareness, and the layering enriches everything. Through the endless pursuit of this old friend and companion she has learned most of what she knows about photographing the landscape. Gradually, she has realized that The Great Marsh, like other natural landscapes around the world, holds the truth for us and, she hopes, for generations to come. Her book is dedicated to The Great Marsh.
